When we think of air quality issues, we often imagine polluted outdoor air or busy city streets. But have you ever stopped to think about the air inside your own home? If you’ve ever felt stuffy, had unexplained headaches, or noticed your allergies acting up indoors, you might be dealing with poor indoor air quality, and it’s more common than you think. At Aire Serv, we’ve seen firsthand how this often-overlooked issue can impact your health and comfort. Keep reading to find out how indoor air quality could be affecting your home and, more importantly, how to fix it with some practical steps.
When we talk about poor indoor air quality, we're not just referring to dust or an occasional musty smell. Think about allergens, bacteria, mold spores, and even chemicals from everyday products like cleaning supplies or paints. These contaminants can float around unnoticed and, over time, cause a range of health problems. You might notice more sneezing, coughing, or worsening asthma. Some people experience frequent headaches, fatigue, or dizziness, all because of the air they’re breathing indoors. And the worst part is you might not even realize it’s happening until these symptoms become too hard to ignore. An indoor air quality monitor helps detect pollutants so you know what you’re up against.
Indoor air quality is all about how much attention you give it. If you never replace your air filter, then you will have air that is full of pollutants and contaminants.
Some of our service offerings include the installation and replacement of air filters. Air quality testing services help provide a baseline of where things stand and air filter replacement helps to clean the air.
Luckily, improving indoor air quality doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Here are some upgrades you can easily make:
Monitoring gives you real-time data about what’s in your air. With an indoor air quality monitor, you’ll get alerts if something is off, like a spike in volatile organic compounds from cleaning products or a rise in humidity that could lead to mold growth. Some monitors track just a few pollutants, while others give you a full rundown of everything from carbon dioxide levels to temperature and humidity. The goal is to find one that fits your needs without breaking the bank.
Even with a monitor, it’s important to schedule an indoor air quality service in Pittsburgh to stay on top of potential hazards. Professionals can provide more detailed testing and solutions that go beyond DIY monitoring tools.
If your system is old or not well-maintained, it could be spreading dust, pollen, or even mold throughout your home. Changing air filters every three months and scheduling seasonal tune-ups can do wonders for your home’s air quality. A well-maintained system keeps you comfortable, improves air circulation, and keeps pollutants at bay. If you want to take it a step further, consider adding a whole-house air purification system. This works directly with your HVAC to filter out even the smallest particles, leaving you with fresher, cleaner air. A thorough indoor air quality check can help determine if your current system is up to the task or if you need an upgrade.

Can I give them more than 5 stars??!! This company is my go-to moving forward for ANY HVAC issues. They responded quickly, the office staff is extremely polite and helpful, the technicians were both wonderful- very nice, explained things and offered suggestions in a helpful manner, they showed up on time and were very considerate of my property, leaving things better than they found them :) HIGHLY recommend to anyone needing service!!
We talked to Aire Serv about our furnace in the afternoon and they had our technician, Aaron Stanislawski, at our home by 8:00 the next morning. He explained to us what was going on with the furnace and what needed to be done. He was able to take care of it right away. He was very punctual, courteous and friendly. Thanks for taking care of us so quickly. Terry and Sheila Alvaro
Not edited because I was asked! But because they made right of a mix up, and over delivered! Long story short Home Warrant company submitted my claim for a 2nd opinion to Sewickley Air Serve. My A/C already being down for 3 weeks made this process that more frustrating. I received an email to schedule, and called to schedule but got Air Serves answering service. The answering service told me mistakenly they did not service my area, which required me to submit a new claim and further the process by 1-2 more weeks. I upset, and believing Air Serve should have honored the work order, having they accepted it, left a poor review. No sooner then the next business day, did Jessica reach out and not only apologize but offer to come out that day. The answering service gave me bad information, and they did in fact service my area, and correctly accept the bid. At this point the insurance had canceled the work order, after confirming with the same receptionist I spoke to, that they would not do the work. Well Jessica pulled through again! Dealing with insurance companies is like pulling teeth. Jessica got her accounting department to re open the original claim, and got a tech out to me in less the 24 hours. That’s not 5 star service, that’s 6 star service! They took a situation that was out of there direct control at that time, and capitalized on it. You have a customer for life, and I will be sure to contact you for my commercial needs as well! We will be talking soon
My furnace shorted out and I needed to either replace a particular circuit board on a 20 year old furnace or get a new furnace. Knowing that I would probably be best served with a new furnace, I called several companies for quotes. On Wednesday, I called Aire Serv for an appointment. I had a quote on Thursday, and I had the furnace installed on Friday. It was a very quick response with a great quote and the two gentlemen who came to install the furnace were very professional, clean, and efficient in the install.
